Power of Authority to designate financial benchmarks

The Authority may, by order in the Gazette, designate a financial benchmark as a designated benchmark for the purposes of this Part if the Authority is satisfied that —
(a)
the financial benchmark has systemic importance in the financial system of Singapore;
(b)
a disruption in the determination of the financial benchmark could affect public confidence in the financial benchmark or the financial system of Singapore;
(c)
the determination of the financial benchmark could be susceptible to manipulation; or
(d)
it is otherwise in the interests of the public to do so.
