Regulation 3

Service in any of the military Police Forces shall not be regarded as qualifying service.

Service during the period of the Japanese occupation shall count towards the qualifying period, provided that at the discretion of the Commissioner of Police, breaks or service during the Japanese occupation shall not be regarded as breaking the continuity of such service.

Full time service in the Special Constabulary immediately preceding service in the Singapore Police Force shall be regarded as qualifying service.

Service in the Royal Federation of Malaya Police shall be regarded as qualifying service.
