Regulation 6A
Charge for works on public streets
Subregulation 1
The charge payable for carrying out works on a public street that require one or more traffic lanes, or any part of a traffic lane, to be closed to the public is the sum of the amounts calculated in accordance with the formulae specified in paragraphs (2) and (3).
Subregulation 2
In respect of works carried out during any period other than a less‑traffic period, the charge payable is to be calculated in accordance with the formula N × ($60 + $0.30 × L), where —
N is the number of hours during which these works (including works required to reinstate the public street) are carried out; and
L is the total length, in metres, of each of the traffic lanes, or each part of a traffic lane, that was closed to traffic.
Subregulation 3
In respect of works carried out during any less‑traffic period, the charge payable is to be calculated in accordance with the formula N × ($30 + $0.15 × L), where —
N is the number of hours during which these works (including works required to reinstate the public street) are carried out; and
L is the total length, in metres, of each of the traffic lanes, or each part of a traffic lane, that was closed to traffic.
Subregulation 4
In this regulation, “less‑traffic period” means —
the whole of any Sunday or public holiday;
the period starting on 11 p.m. and ending immediately before 12 midnight the next day on any Saturday or eve of a public holiday; and
the period starting on 11 p.m. and ending immediately before 6 a.m. the next day on any other day.
