Departure limitations — IFR flight
Subregulation 1
An AOC holder must ensure a relevant aircraft does not commence an IFR flight when weather conditions at the departure aerodrome are below prescribed IFR landing minima unless meteorological reports and forecasts indicate that a successful approach and landing can be made at the take-off alternate.
Subregulation 2
An AOC holder must not conduct any low visibility operation with a relevant aircraft except under and in accordance with an approval granted by the Director‑General of Civil Aviation under the Air Navigation (98 — Special Operations) Regulations 2018 for that purpose.
Subregulation 3
In this regulation, “low visibility operation” means —
a Category II or III approach and landing; or
a take‑off with RVR of less than 400 m, or such higher value specified by the competent authority of the State of the Aerodrome.
