Regulation 3
Requirements for WIG craft
Subregulation 1
These Regulations shall apply to every Singapore WIG craft and every WIG craft in Singapore waters.
Subregulation 2
Subject to these Regulations and notwithstanding paragraph 8 of the Preamble to the WIG Craft Guidelines, every Singapore WIG craft and every WIG craft in Singapore waters, including any such WIG craft designed to carry less than 12 persons, shall comply with the provisions of the WIG Craft Guidelines.
Subregulation 3
Subject to paragraph (4), a WIG craft which complies with the provisions of the WIG Craft Guidelines in their entirety and which has been surveyed and certified in accordance with regulation 6(1) shall be deemed to have complied with Chapters I to IV, regulations 18, 19 and 20 of Chapter V and Chapter X of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Regulations (Rg 11).
Subregulation 4
For the purposes of these Regulations —
any reference in the WIG Craft Guidelines to “should” shall be read as a reference to “shall”;
any reference in the WIG Craft Guidelines to a WIG craft shall be read as a reference to —
a Singapore WIG craft; or
a WIG craft in Singapore waters; and
a reference to “2.2 to 2.7” in —
10.2 of Part A of the WIG Craft Guidelines; and
Annex 2 to the WIG Craft Guidelines,shall be read as a reference to 2.1.2 to 2.1.7 of Part A of the WIG Craft Guidelines.
