Regulation 32

Person carrying out hot-work to be competent in hot-work

Where any hot-work is to be carried out in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour, it shall be the duty of —

(a)

the employer of any person who carries out or is to carry out the hot-work; or

(b)

the principal under whose direction any person who carries out or is to carry out the hot-work,to ensure that the person —

(i)

has received sufficient training and is competent in hot-work; and

(ii)

has been fully instructed as to the danger likely to arise in connection with such work and the precautionary measures to be taken.
