48. Age limit of operator

It shall be the duty of —

the employer of any person who uses or is to use any suspended scaffold in a workplace; or

the principal under whose direction any person uses or is to use any suspended scaffold in a workplace,to take, so far as is reasonably practicable, such measures as are necessary to ensure that no person below the age of 18 years operates a climber, winch, powered device or mechanism used for raising or lowering a suspended scaffold.
