Regulation 25
Quality control of tests
A clinical laboratory service licensee must, in relation to each test it provides as part of the clinical laboratory service —
(a)
perform the test using a quality control material and at an appropriate frequency, to ensure the accuracy of the test;
(b)
establish acceptance criteria for test results;
(c)
document any results that are outside of the acceptance criteria; and
(d)
where there is reason to suspect that the test is not accurate, ensure that remedial actions are taken to ensure the accuracy of the test before conducting the test on a specimen from a patient.
