Regulation 48
Conduct of ultrasound imaging
Subregulation 1
A licensee must not conduct any ultrasound imaging on a patient unless a qualified assisted reproduction practitioner orders the ultrasound imaging for the patient.
Subregulation 2
A licensee must ensure that any ultrasound imaging conducted on a patient is conducted —
(a)
only as a service incidental to the provision of an assisted reproduction service; and
(b)
by or under the supervision of the licensee’s personnel who is —
(i)
a medical practitioner;
(ii)
a radiographer who is a duly qualified allied health professional; or
(iii)
a sonographer.
