Short title and commencement
This Ordinance may be cited as the Telegraphs (Amendment) Ordinance, 1963, and shall come into operation on such date as the Yang di-Pertuan Negara may by notification in the Gazette appoint.

New section 44
The Telegraphs Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting immediately after section 43 thereof the following new section: —“Matters not applicable44.—
Nothing in this Ordinance shall apply to —
the issue of licences for the establishment of any broadcasting station or for the installation or working of any broadcasting apparatus in any place in Singapore or on board any ship, aircraft or vehicle registered in Singapore;
the issue of licences to dealers in broadcasting apparatus;
the transfer of any licence mentioned in this subsection; and
any other matter falling within the provisions of the Broadcasting and Television Ordinance, 1963 (Ord. of 1963).(2) In this section, the expressions “broadcasting station” and “broadcasting apparatus” shall have the same meaning as in the Broadcasting and Television Ordinance, 1963.”.
