Citation and commencement
These Regulations are the Tobacco and Vaporisers Control (Application of Misuse of Drugs Act Provisions) Regulations 2026 and come into operation on 1 May 2026.

Tobacco and Vaporisers Control (Application of Misuse of Drugs Act Provisions) Regulations 2026 is Singapore Subsidiary Legislation, cited as Subsidiary Legislation S253 2026, currently marked in force and first recorded in 2026.
Citation and commencement
These Regulations are the Tobacco and Vaporisers Control (Application of Misuse of Drugs Act Provisions) Regulations 2026 and come into operation on 1 May 2026.
Prescribed exceptions and modifications
For the purposes of section 19U of the Act, in respect of an inmate or a person detained in an approved institution or a community rehabilitation centre pursuant to section 19T of the Act —
the application of the provisions of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973 specified in the First Schedule is subject to the exceptions and modifications specified therein; and
the application of the provisions of the regulations made under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973 specified in the first column of the table in the Second Schedule is subject to the exceptions and modifications specified in the second column of that table.
FIRST SCHEDULE
Regulation 2(a)
EXCEPTIONS AND MODIFICATIONS TO
PROVISIONS OF MISUSE OF DRUGS ACT 1973
1. In section 31(9) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, the reference in
paragraph (a) of the definition of “relevant person” to any person discharged
from an approved institution does not include a reference to an inmate or a person
who was discharged from an approved institution in which he or she was detained
pursuant to section 19T of the Act.
2. Sections 34(3) to (5), 34A, 40A, 40B, 40C and 40D of the Misuse of Drugs
Act 1973 do not apply.
3. In section 38(2) and (3) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, the reference to the
Director is to be read as a reference to the Chief Executive of the Health Sciences
Authority.
