10. Duties of chairperson and vice‑chairpersons

“chairperson”, in relation to a Town Council, means the chairperson of the Town Council and includes an acting chairperson of the Town Council;
In the chairperson’s absence, or if at any time the office of the chairperson is vacant, any vice‑chairperson is to preside at meetings of the Town Council and perform such other duties of the chairperson as are prescribed in this Act.
Town Council
“Town Council”, in relation to a Town, means the Town Council established under section 4 for that Town;
If the chairperson and vice‑chairpersons are absent from a meeting of the Town Council, the members present must elect from among themselves a temporary chairperson to preside at that meeting.
