5. Constitution of Board
Feedback & supportThe Board shall consist of the following members:
Board
“Board” means the Vocational and Industrial Training Board established under section 3;
a Chairman;
a Deputy Chairman;
the Director;
3 persons representing the Government;
3 persons appearing to the Minister to be representative of employers engaged in commerce and industry;
3 persons representing the National Trades Union Congress; and
such other persons as the Minister may consider necessary.
The members other than the Director shall be appointed by the Minister and shall, unless the Minister otherwise directs, hold office for a period of 3 years from the date of their respective appointments and shall be eligible for reappointment.
The Minister may appoint a person to be a temporary member during the absence from Singapore, or incapacity owing to illness or otherwise, of a member.

“member” means a member of the Board and includes the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman and the Director;
The Minister may at any time revoke the appointment of a member without assigning any reason therefor.
A member may resign from his appointment at any time by giving written notice to the Minister.
