4. Director to construct and maintain drains and other drainage structures

The Director may cause to be made, constructed and maintained drains and other drainage structures and, if necessary, the Director may, after reasonable notice in writing in that behalf, carry them across, through, along or under any premises or any cellar, basement or vault, doing as little damage as may be and making full compensation for any damage done.

“Director” means the Director of Water Pollution Control and Drainage appointed under section 3 and includes a Deputy Director and an Assistant Director of Water Pollution Control and Drainage;

If any dispute arises relating to the amount or apportionment of compensation, it shall be settled in the manner provided in section 42.
