Regulation 5A
Markings on aircraft
Subregulation 1
The pilot-in-command of a relevant aircraft (other than an aircraft permitted to fly without a certificate of registration under these Regulations) must not operate the aircraft unless —
in the case of a Singapore registered aircraft, the nationality mark, registration mark and markings on the aircraft are painted on or affixed to the aircraft in accordance with the requirements specified in the Air Navigation (47 — Aircraft Registration) Regulations 2026 (G.N. No. S 39/2026); or
in the case of a foreign registered aircraft, the nationality mark, registration mark and markings on the aircraft are painted on or affixed to the aircraft in accordance with the requirements of the law of the State, country or territory in which it is registered.
Subregulation 2
A pilot-in-command must not operate a relevant aircraft that bears any mark that purports to indicate —
that the aircraft is registered in a country or territory in which the aircraft is not in fact registered; or
that the aircraft is a State aircraft of a particular country if it is not in fact such an aircraft, unless the appropriate authority of that country has sanctioned the bearing of such marks.
Subregulation 3
Any person who fails to comply with paragraph (1) or (2) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction —
for a first offence, to a fine not exceeding $20,000; and
for a second or subsequent offence, to a fine not exceeding $40,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 months or to both.
