Section 404

Whenever it appears to the High Court or District Court that a private person has shown unusual courage, diligence or exertion in the apprehension of a person accused of having committed, attempted or abetted an offence punishable with death or imprisonment, it may order payment to him out of the Consolidated Fund of any sum not exceeding $500.[403
