Director-General and appointment of authorised officers
(1)
The Director‑General is, subject to any general or special directions of the Minister, responsible for the administration of this Act (except Part 4), and may perform the duties that are imposed and exercise the powers that are conferred upon the Director‑General by this Act.
(2)
The Director‑General may appoint, by name or office, any public officer, any officer or employee of the Agency or any auxiliary police officer appointed as such under the Police Force Act 2004 to be an authorised officer to assist the Director‑General in the administration of this Act.
(3)
The Director‑General may, with the Minister’s approval, delegate the exercise of all or any of the powers conferred or duties imposed on the Director‑General by this Act (except the power of delegation conferred by this subsection) to any authorised officer, subject to any conditions or limitations that the Director‑General may specify.
