183. Liability of partners, directors and shareholders

Where a Joint Law Venture, Formal Law Alliance, foreign law practice or Singapore law practice is proved to have contravened any provision in this Division, every partner, director and shareholder of the Joint Law Venture, Formal Law Alliance, foreign law practice or Singapore law practice (as the case may be) at the time of the contravention is deemed to have contravened the provision, unless he or she proves that —
Joint Law Venture
“Joint Law Venture” means a Joint Law Venture licensed under section 169;
the contravention occurred without his or her consent or connivance; and
he or she exercised such diligence to prevent the contravention as he or she ought to have exercised having regard to the nature of his or her function in that capacity and to all the circumstances.
