Contingency fees prohibited
A legal practitioner or law practice must not enter into any negotiations with a client of the legal practitioner or law practice —
(a)
for an interest in the subject matter of litigation or of any other contentious proceedings; or
(b)
except to the extent permitted by any applicable scale of costs, for remuneration proportionate to the amount which may be recovered by the client in the proceedings.
