Clause 4

Section 22 of the principal Act is hereby amended by deleting subsection (1) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(1) An officer of the Bureau, a police officer, an officer of customs, or any special police officer or member of the Vigilante Corps authorised in writing by a police officer not below the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police, may arrest without a warrant any person who has committed or whom he reasonably suspects to have committed an offence under this Act.”.
