31. Attachment of deposits
Feedback & supportNo deposit in the Bank, and no interest on any such deposit, shall be attached, sequestered or levied upon for or in respect of any debt or claim whatsoever:Provided that —

“Bank” means the Post Office Savings Bank of Singapore established under section 3;
upon notice of a claim under a judgment of any court, it shall be lawful for the General Manager in his discretion to retain in the account a sum sufficient to answer the claim and to pay into the court on its order the amount of the claim or the total amount of the deposits and interest in the account if the claim be for a greater sum; and
General Manager
“General Manager” means the General Manager appointed under section 18 and includes any person appointed to act as General Manager;
a court shall only make an order under this section if it is satisfied that the judgment debtor has an account for his own sole benefit with the Bank. [30
