Research

Subregulation 1

Any person may, for the purpose of reference or research, apply in writing to the Director to use any oral history sound recording or transcript.

Subregulation 2

An applicant shall state his name, address, identity card or passport number and the purpose for the use of the recording or transcript.

Subregulation 3

On receipt of an application, the Director shall consider the application and may, subject to regulation 3(2) and to such conditions as he may impose, allow the applicant to use the recording or transcript or refuse the use of the recording or transcript.

Subregulation 4

All oral history sound recordings and transcripts shall only be used in the search room of the Centre unless otherwise authorised by the Director.

Subregulation 5

(a)

Subject to this regulation, any oral history sound recording or transcript may be borrowed for such period as the Director may determine.(b) The Director may at any time recall the recording and transcript.

Subregulation 6

The applicant shall be responsible for any oral history sound recording, transcript or tape-recorder borrowed by him and may be required to pay compensation for the loss of or damage to any recording, transcript or tape-recorder borrowed by him at such rate as the Director may determine having regard to the replacement or other costs of the recording, transcript or tape-recorder lost or damaged.
