Regulation 9

Medal, Bar and Bar (Enhanced) to be awarded by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs

The Medal, Bar or Bar (Enhanced) shall be awarded by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs acting in accordance with the recommendation of any of the following recommending authorities:

(a)

the Commissioner of Police, where the eligible person —

(i)

is or at the time of the service as specified in rule 4 was a member of the Singapore Police Force, the Special Constabulary or the Vigilante Corps; or

(ii)

is an eligible person referred to in rule 2(1)(b) or (c) and who was at the time of the service as specified in rule 4, serving under the auspices of the Singapore Police Force;

(b)

the Director of Central Narcotics Bureau, where the eligible person —

(i)

is or at the time of the service as specified in rule 4 was a member of the Central Narcotics Bureau; or

(ii)

is an eligible person referred to in rule 2(1)(b) or (c) and who was at the time of the service as specified in rule 4, serving under the auspices of the Central Narcotics Bureau;

(c)

the Director of Prisons, where the eligible person —

(i)

is or at the time of the service as specified in rule 4 was a member of the Singapore Prison Service; or

(ii)

is an eligible person referred to in rule 2(1)(b) or (c) and who was at the time of the service as specified in rule 4, serving under the auspices of the Singapore Prison Service.
