Regulation 20

Tampering with distinguishing marks

Subregulation 1

A person commits an offence if —

(a)

the person without the permission of the Authority, intentionally damages, removes, tampers, defaces or mutilates any distinguishing mark installed, affixed or engraved by the Authority on a non‑compliant small motorised vehicle; and

(b)

the person knows or ought reasonably to know that the person does not have that permission to damage, remove, tamper, deface or mutilate the distinguishing mark.

Subregulation 2

A person who is guilty of an offence under paragraph (1) shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
