33. Composition of offences

The Controller may compound any offence under this Act and any subsidiary legislation made under this Act by accepting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $2,000.

“Controller” means the Controller of Weights and Measures appointed under section 29 and includes any officer duly authorised by the Controller to act on his or her behalf;

Any sum of money received by way of composition as aforesaid must be paid into the Consolidated Fund.
