36B. Exemption

The Commission may, subject to the general or special directions of the Minister, and by order in the Gazette, exempt —
any person or class of persons; and
any weighing or measuring instrument or class of weighing or measuring instruments,from all or any of the provisions of this Act or any subsidiary legislation made under this Act, subject to any terms and conditions that the Commission may impose.
weighing or measuring instrument
“weighing or measuring instrument” means an instrument for measuring in terms of length, area, volume, capacity, weight or number, whether or not the instrument is constructed to give an indication of the measurement made or other information determined by reference to that measurement, and includes any article used as a weighing or measuring instrument.
