26. Composition of offences

The Commissioner may compound any offence under this Act or the regulations that is prescribed as a compoundable offence by collecting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $500.

“Commissioner” means the Commissioner of Civil Defence appointed under section 6 of the Civil Defence Act 1986;

All sums received under subsection (1) must be paid into the Consolidated Fund.
