Regulation 48

Time

Subregulation 1

For the purposes of these Rules, the word “month”, where it occurs in any decision, direction or order of a tribunal or the Registrar, means a calendar month.

Subregulation 2

Any period of time fixed by these Rules, or by a decision, direction or order of a tribunal or the Registrar, for doing any act is to be reckoned as follows:

(a)

where the act is required to be done within a specified period after a specified date, the period begins immediately after that date;

(b)

where the act is required to be done not later than a specified period before a specified date, the period ends immediately before that date;

(c)

where, apart from this sub-paragraph, the period in question, being a period of 6 days or less, would include a day other than a working day, that day is excluded.

Subregulation 3

Where the time mentioned in these Rules, in a decision, direction or order of the tribunal or Registrar, or in a decision, direction or order of a District Court or the General Division of the High Court made in any proceedings under these Rules, for doing any act expires on a day other than a working day, the act is in time if done on the next working day.
