Gambling Control Act 2022

This Act is the Gambling Control Act 2022 and comes into operation on a date that the Minister appoints by notification in the Gazette.

The purposes of this Act are —

to authorise some gambling and prohibit the rest as unlawful gambling;

to prohibit advertising of unlawful gambling;

to minimise social harm associated with gambling, including problem gambling; (d)to ensure the integrity and fairness of gambling and ban irresponsible gambling products and practices; and

to limit opportunities for crime or dishonesty associated with gambling and the conduct of gambling.
