82. Test for fittings of cast-iron

When it is intended to make these fittings of malleable cast-iron of such special quality as to approach closely cast-steel in strength and ductility, full particulars of the tensile and bending tests to which it is proposed to subject the material shall be submitted to the Surveyor-General of Ships for consideration and approval before the castings are made.
