Section 23

A person who commits an offence under this Act or any regulations made under this Act for which no penalty is expressly provided shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or to both.

The Board or any person authorised by the Board in writing may compound any offence under this Act or any regulations made under this Act which is prescribed as a compoundable offence by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $2,000.

The Board may, with the approval of the Minister, make regulations to prescribe the offences which may be compounded.

All sums collected under this section must be paid to the Board.
