Related appeals (O. 18, r. 31)

Subregulation 1

Where there are related appeals in the appellate Court, the appellate Court may give directions for the filing and service of such joint documents as may be appropriate in the circumstances.

Subregulation 2

The directions in paragraph (1) may be given by the appellate Court on its own motion or on the application or request of any party to any of the related appeals.

Subregulation 3

To avoid doubt, the appellate Court may give directions under paragraph (1) even if the related appeals comprise one or more appeals filed under this Order and one or more appeals filed under Order 19.

Subregulation 4

Where the related appeals comprise one or more appeals filed under this Order and one or more appeals filed under Order 19, the appellate Court may direct any modifications of the rules that are applicable to an appeal before it, including that the rules of this Division are not to apply to the appeal, and that the rules in Division 3 of Order 19 are to apply instead.
