14. Safety appliances
Feedback & supportEvery licensee shall ensure that no employee shall —
descend into any bin, hopper or stockpile cavity without attaching himself to a properly secured safety rope by means of a safety belt or other appliance approved by the Licensing Officer; or
use any such appliance which he considers to be unsafe.
While in a bin, hopper or stockpile cavity, the employee shall be constantly attended by a second person who shall ensure that the safety rope is properly secured and that there is no unnecessary slack rope.
Subregulation 1
Every licensee shall ensure that no employee shall —
descend into any bin, hopper or stockpile cavity without attaching himself to a properly secured safety rope by means of a safety belt or other appliance approved by the Licensing Officer; or
use any such appliance which he considers to be unsafe.
Subregulation 2
While in a bin, hopper or stockpile cavity, the employee shall be constantly attended by a second person who shall ensure that the safety rope is properly secured and that there is no unnecessary slack rope.
