Subregulation 1
A medal to be known as the Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Service Medal (hereinafter in these Rules referred to as the “Medal”) may be awarded to members of the Singapore Armed Forces who after the 9th day of August, 1970, were engaged in operational or non-operational service in an area outside the Republic of Singapore in accordance with the conditions set out in rules 3, 4 and 4A of these Rules.
Subregulation 2
If a person to whom the Medal has been previously awarded further qualifies for the award of the Medal for service of the same type he shall be presented a Bar to be attached to the ribbon by which the medal is suspended.
Subregulation 3
Where a person is already in possession of a Medal for either the operational or non-operational service and he subsequently qualifies in the other form of service, he shall be awarded a second Medal to be worn with the appropriate ribbon.
