Regulation 48

Bread

Bread shall be made by baking a yeast-leavened dough prepared with flour and water and may contain —

(a)

salt;

(b)

edible fats;

(c)

milk or milk products;

(d)

eggs;

(e)

sweeteners including permitted sweetening agents;

(f)

malt syrup, malt extract or malt flour;

(g)

vinegar;

(h)

soya bean or other flours;

(i)

permitted emulsifiers and stabilisers;

(j)

permitted Class II chemical preservatives; and

(k)

permitted colouring matters.
