40. Procedures which cannot be performed by certain registered dentists

A person to whom section 40 of the Act applies shall not perform any of the following procedures:

any surgical procedures on the hard or soft tissues of the jaws, other than a simple forceps extraction;

any endodontic procedures, other than simple pulp capping;

any crown and bridgework; and

any orthodontic procedure.

Any person who contravenes paragraph (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
