Optometrists and Opticians (Registration and Practising Certificates) Regulations

These Regulations may be cited as the Optometrists and Opticians (Registration and Practising Certificates) Regulations.

In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires —“Accreditation and Examinations Committee” means a committee appointed by the Board under section 30 of the Act;“approved foreign qualification in opticianry” means a certificate or diploma in opticianry obtained from a foreign institution specified in Part II of the First Schedule;“approved foreign qualification in optometry” means a diploma or degree in optometry obtained from a foreign institution specified in Part II of the Second Schedule;“approved local qualification in opticianry” means a certificate or diploma in opticianry obtained from a local institution specified in Part I of the First Schedule;“approved local qualification in optometry” means a diploma or degree in optometry obtained from a local institution specified in Part I of the Second Schedule;“Certificate in Contact Lens Practice” means a certificate in Contact Lens Practice issued by the Singapore Polytechnic between 1990 and 1995;“conditional registration” means a registration subject to such conditions as the Board thinks fit.

“approved local qualification in opticianry” means a certificate or diploma in opticianry obtained from a local institution specified in Part I of the First Schedule;

“approved local qualification in optometry” means a diploma or degree in optometry obtained from a local institution specified in Part I of the Second Schedule;

“Certificate in Contact Lens Practice” means a certificate in Contact Lens Practice issued by the Singapore Polytechnic between 1990 and 1995;

“conditional registration” means a registration subject to such conditions as the Board thinks fit.
