Departure limitations — IFR flight
Subregulation 1
The pilot-in-command of a relevant aircraft must not commence a flight in accordance with the Instrument Flight Rules unless —
the weather conditions at the departure aerodrome are at or above the weather minima specified for take-off in accordance with the Instrument Flight Rules, as determined in accordance with the requirements of the State of Registry or the State of the Operator (as applicable); and
the relevant runway visual range at the departure aerodrome is at least 400 m, except when the flight is conducted in accordance with an approval issued or granted by the State of Registry.
Subregulation 2
In the case of a Singapore registered aircraft, the approval mentioned in paragraph (1)(b) is granted by the Director‑General of Civil Aviation under the Air Navigation (98 — Special Operations) Regulations 2018.
