Regulation 5

Grant of special operations approval

Subregulation 1

After considering any application made under regulation 4, the Director‑General of Civil Aviation may —

(a)

refuse the application; or

(b)

grant the special operations approval sought, subject to such conditions, restrictions and limitations as the Director‑General of Civil Aviation thinks fit.

Subregulation 2

Before granting a special operations approval, the Director‑General of Civil Aviation must be satisfied that —

(a)

the Singapore operator seeking the special operations approval —

(i)

meets the requirements specified in these Regulations that are applicable to the special operation for which approval is sought, including those that are applicable to a Singapore operator granted such an approval; and

(ii)

has completed a safety risk assessment and has established appropriate measures to ensure an acceptable level of safety; and

(b)

it is not contrary to the interests of aviation safety to grant the special operations approval.
