22FC. Registration of energy auditors

An individual is eligible to be registered as an energy auditor if the individual has the prescribed qualifications or experience in relation to assessing the energy efficiency of cooling systems of buildings.

“registered” or “registration” means registered or registration under this Part authorising the person registered to carry on any registrable activity or a class of registrable activity specified in the registration;
An application to be registered as, or to renew the registration of, an energy auditor must —

be made to the Commissioner of Building Control;
be made in the form and manner specified by the Commissioner of Building Control; and
be accompanied by —
such documents or information as the Commissioner of Building Control may specify; and
any application fee that may be prescribed.
The Commissioner of Building Control may register an applicant as an energy auditor, or renew the registration of an applicant as an energy auditor, if he or she is satisfied that the applicant —

“Commissioner of Building Control”, in relation to this Act or any Part or provision of this Act, means any Commissioner of Building Control appointed under section 3(1) to be responsible for the operation of this Act or that Part or provision, as the case may be;
has the prescribed qualifications or experience mentioned in subsection (1); and
is capable of carrying out the duties of an energy auditor under this Part.
The Commissioner of Building Control may, at the time of registering an applicant as an energy auditor, or renewing the registration of an applicant as an energy auditor, specify the validity period of the registration or the renewal of registration.
The Commissioner of Building Control may appoint a committee of persons to assist him or her in considering applications for registration, or renewal of registration, as an energy auditor.
