Section 8D
Immunity of Presidential Elections Committee
of Presidential Elections Act 1991
(1)
The Presidential Elections Committee is not, in the absence of malice on its part, liable to any action at the suit of any person in respect of —
any statement which the Committee makes in the discharge of any of its functions under this Act, whether the statement is made orally or in writing; or
the publication of any document prepared by the Committee in the course of performing its functions under this Act.
(2)
Subsection (1) does not limit or affect any other right, privilege or immunity that the Presidential Elections Committee has, apart from this section, as a defendant in any action.
