Regulation 66
Strength and stability
Subregulation 1
It shall be the duty of the owner of a crane, an employee’s lift or a material handling machinery being used in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour to ensure that it is —
(a)
of good construction, sound material and adequate strength;
(b)
free from defects; and
(c)
properly maintained.
Subregulation 2
It shall be the duty of the operator of a crane or material handling machinery being used in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour to ensure that the crane or machinery, as the case may be, is positioned and operated so as to be stable.
