Capacity chart

Subregulation 1

It shall be the duty of the owner of any crane used in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour to comply with paragraphs (2), (3) and (4).

Subregulation 2

Where the capacity of the crane is variable, a capacity chart shall be provided.

Subregulation 3

The capacity chart shall —

(a)

be posted and maintained in the crane which is clearly visible to the operator;

(b)

set out the safe loads for various lengths of jib at various angles and radial distances; and

(c)

be prepared and certified by an authorised examiner, unless it is furnished by the manufacturer or builder of the crane.

Subregulation 4

Where outriggers are provided, the safe loads with and without the use of outriggers shall be specified in the capacity chart.
