Flight crew duty assignment
Subregulation 1
For every flight of a relevant aircraft, the AWC holder must designate —
a flight crew member as the pilot‑in‑command; and
the number of persons required as additional flight crew members to augment the minimum flight crew specified in the aircraft’s flight manual (or such other documentation associated with the aircraft’s Certificate of Airworthiness) due to —
the type of aircraft being operated;
the type of operation being performed; and
the duration of the flight.
Subregulation 2
For every person assigned duty on a relevant aircraft as a flight crew member or a task specialist, the AWC holder must ensure that the person is assigned, in writing, to the operational and safety functions that the person is to perform for the flight, including those functions required in the event of an emergency.
