113. Penalty for fraudulently inducing employee to emigrate
Feedback & supportAny person who by force, intoxication or ill-treatment, intimidation or fraud, or by means of false representations, induces or attempts to induce any person to enter into a contract of service to work beyond the limits of Singapore shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both.

“contract of service” means any agreement, whether written or oral, express or implied, whereby one person agrees to employ another as an employee and that other agrees to serve his or her employer as an employee and includes an apprenticeship contract or agreement;
