Amendment of section 7
of Health Sciences Authority (Amendment) and Other Matters Bill
In the HCS Act, in section 7 —
after subsection (2), insert —“(2A) The Director‑General may, in relation to any provision in this Act, appoint a public officer, an officer of any public authority or any suitably qualified individual to be an auxiliary authorised officer for the purposes of that provision, either generally or in a particular case.
Every authorised officer or auxiliary authorised officer, when exercising his or her powers and carrying out his or her duties under this Act, must comply with such general or special directions as may, from time to time, be given to the authorised officer or auxiliary authorised officer by the Director‑General.”;
in subsection (3), after “an authorised officer”, insert “or an auxiliary authorised officer who is a public officer or an officer of a public authority”;
in subsection (3), after “the authorised officer”, insert “or auxiliary authorised officer who is a public officer or an officer of a public authority”; and
in subsection (6), after “every authorised officer”, insert “, every auxiliary authorised officer”.
