26. Amendment of section 2

In the Electric Vehicles Charging Act 2022 (called in this Part the EVCA), in section 2 —

after the definition of “charging station operator”, insert —“ “early‑installed (approved) EV charger” means an EV charger —

that was supplied before 8 December 2023;

that was registered under section 19 on or after that date; and

the model of which was approved under section 7(3) on or after that date, but on which no approval label has been affixed;“early‑installed EV charger” means —

an early‑installed (approved) EV charger;

an early‑installed (LNO) EV charger; or

an early‑installed (non‑LNO issued) EV charger;“early‑installed (LNO) EV charger” means an EV charger —

that was supplied before 8 December 2023;

that was registered under section 19 on or after that date; and

that is of a model —

for which a letter of no objection has been issued before 8 December 2023 by the LTA or the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, or both; and

which has not been approved under section 7(3);“early‑installed (non‑LNO issued) EV charger” means an EV charger —

that was supplied before 8 December 2023;

that was registered under section 19 on or after that date; and

that is of a model —

for which no letter of no objection was issued before 8 December 2023 by the LTA or the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, or both; and

which has not been approved under section 7(3);”;

after the definition of “electrical installation”, insert —“ “Energy Market Authority of Singapore” means the Energy Market Authority of Singapore established by section 3 of the Energy Market Authority of Singapore Act 2001;”;

after the definition of “homologated model”, insert —“ “letter of no objection” or “LNO” means the letter of no objection mentioned in paragraph 5(1) of the Schedule issued in respect of an EV charger”; and

in the definition of “registered responsible person”, replace “issued with the registration mark” with “assigned with the registration code”.
