If criminal proceedings of any kind are taken against a special police officer, he or she shall immediately report the circumstances to his or her commanding officer.
Subregulation 2

No special police officer may take steps to institute legal proceedings on his or her own behalf or negotiate with a complainant with a view to compounding a complaint made against him or her in connection with any matters whatsoever arising out of his or her official duties, without the previous consent of the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner.
