Regulation 12
Offences and penalties
Subregulation 1
Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of these Regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both.
Subregulation 2
Any person who —
fails to comply with a requirement of the Director, an officer of the Bureau, a police officer or an officer of customs under these Regulations; or
impedes, obstructs or hinders the Director, an officer of the Bureau, a police officer or an officer of customs in the exercise of any of his powers under these Regulations,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both.
Subregulation 3
Any person who —
for the purpose of obtaining, whether for himself or for any other person, the issue or renewal of a permit, makes any declaration or statement which is false in a material particular; or
knowingly utters, produces or makes use of any such declaration or statement or a document containing any such declaration or statement,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both.
Subregulation 4
Every offence under these Regulations is an arrestable offence for the purposes of the Criminal Procedure Code 2010.
