Regulation 6
Safety and health training
Subregulation 1
It shall be the duty of —
the employer of any person who carries out hazardous work in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour; or
the principal under whose direction any person carries out hazardous work in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour,to ensure that the person does not carry out any hazardous work unless he has undergone a safety and health training course approved by the Commissioner.
Subregulation 2
It shall be the duty of every person not to carry out any hazardous work in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour unless he has undergone a safety and health training course approved by the Commissioner.
Subregulation 3
It shall be the duty of —
the employer of any person who carries out hot-work in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour; or
the principal under whose direction any person carries out hot-work in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour,to ensure that the person does not carry out any hot-work unless he has undergone a safety and health training course on hot-work approved by the Commissioner.
Subregulation 4
It shall be the duty of every person not to carry out any hot-work in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour unless he has undergone a safety and health training course on hot-work approved by the Commissioner.
Subregulation 5
It shall be the duty of —
the employer of any person who carries out spray painting work, or painting in a confined space, in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour; or
the principal under whose direction any person carries out spray painting work, or painting in a confined space, in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour,to ensure that the person does not carry out any spray painting work, or painting in a confined space, unless he has undergone a safety and health training course on painting approved by the Commissioner.
Subregulation 6
It shall be the duty of every person not to carry out any spray painting work, or painting in a confined space, in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour unless he has undergone a safety and health training course on painting approved by the Commissioner.
Subregulation 7
It shall be the duty of —
the employer of any person who carries out oversight or supervisory work in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour; or
the principal under whose direction any person carries out oversight or supervisory work in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour,to ensure that the person does not oversee or supervise any work (including any process) in the shipyard or on board the ship in the harbour unless he has received adequate safety and health training to ensure that the work which he oversees or supervises can be carried out safely.
Subregulation 8
It shall be the duty of every person not to oversee or supervise any work (including any process) in a shipyard or on board a ship in a harbour unless he has received adequate safety and health training to ensure that the work that he oversees or supervises can be carried out safely.
